Arts
With the influx of "new settlers" in the last decade or so, from surrounding urban areas, has also come a great wave of artistic activity. The new arrivals, especially from New York City, have brought with them an artistic sensibility that has resulted in gallery opening left and right here in the Poconos. Not to say that all new arrivals from NYC are artists, but even the ones who aren't, have imported a contagious desire to visit art galleries and museums, and to support the arts, and to develop the arts community in any way they can. The Poconos are now a destination for arts activities alone...come here just for the Performing arts, just for the galleries, just for the museum programs, just for the artisan shops.
