The Poconos
Attractions
Besides the natural environnmnet, the water sports, the fishing, the museums, the golfing, and everything else you'll find on these pages, there are also some other...both natural and man-made... attractions for you to visit while on vacation in the Poconos. We've listed them here, with special attention given to the wineries and some of the nightlife spots you'll find in this region.

- Bushkill Falls. Gorgeous waterfalls.
- Mary Stolz Doll & Toy Museum.
- Cold Air Cave. Walk up a path near Delaware Water Gap and find an old cave for free.
- Pocono Snake and Animal Farm. In Marshalls Creek, has more than 100 types of animals for you to meet.
- The Pocono Indian Museum. In Bushkill. Self-guided tour and gift shop.
- Water Gap Trolley. In Delaware Water Gap, nice trolley ride to see scenery.
- Thunder Creek Quarry. In Marshalls Creek, has arcade games in a mining setting.
- Driebe Freight Station. In Stroudburg. You can visit a preserved train station.
- Callie's Pretzel Factory. This is loads of fun. Watch pretzels and gourment popcorn being made and buy some to take home. There's also their Candy Factory nearby!
- Stroud Mansion. Run by the Monroe County Historical Society, this 1795 mansion was built by Colonol Jacob Stroud. It only costs $5.
- JEM Classic Car Museum. In Andreas.
- The Toy Soldier. In Paradise Falls, a museum of miniature figures and dioramas of historical battles and wars.
- Dorflinger Glass Museum. In White Mills, has hundred of famous Dorflinger glass, used by former presidents.
Nightlife
Along with our new urban transplants from surrounding cities, have come a growing nightlife in the Poconos. We're not talking techno clubs here, but rather pubs and jazz clubs, breweries, and shows. Here are a few of the notable venues and hotspots in the Poconos.

- Barley Creek Brewing Company in Tannersville. Great ski-lodge decor.
- The Deer Head Inn in delaware Water Gap. Great food and live jazz. It's been around longer than almost any other jazz club in the whole country.
- Flood's in Stroudsburg has international beers on tap and in bottles.
- Garris' Log Cabin in Bushkill has karaoke and good food.
- Stateford Inn , a local bar in Stateford, a tiny town near Delaware Water Gap. They have bands on Saturday night an dancing, pool.
- The Hoop is in Stroudsburg and is bigger than most clubs in the Poconos. It's a diner attached to a victorian house. Can't miss it! bands, djs, Club Vogue on the second floor. Sports bar on the third floor, and you can look down from here onto Club Vogue, where patrons dance to club music.
- The Tannersville Inn Friday night murder theater dinner and live bands on weekends.
- Pocono Brewing Company live music or DJ on weekends and cathedral ceilings. Special events such as Cinco de Mayo and all-male revue.

Wineries
Did you know there are around 68 wineries in Pennsylvania? Not only that, they also make world-class, top quality wine. Four of these top-notch wineries are right in or just outside the Poconos. You can spend a breezy wonderful weekend cruising from winery to another, preferable in a convertible car with the top down...in Pennsylvania! In fact, Benjamin Franklin started one of the first colonial wineries, and there are nearly three hundred years of wine-making experience and history in this state. The wineries that are in the Poconos are grouped together in the same region...Jim Thorpe area and just outside the Poconos, so you can make a day of it. Sample the wines, talk to winemakers, meet other wine enthusiasts, enjoy the scenery, and just plain enjoy life at its best. You can buy the wines at the wineries, too, and they will also make custom labels if you have a special event coming up.

- Cherry Valley Vineyards in Saylorsburg. They have a tasting room that was once a farmhouse owned by the man who gave his hame to Saylorsburg. They also have a haunted one-room schoolhouse in the vineyard. They host weddings, music events
- Big Creek Vineyard & Winery in Kresgeville. Their wine tasting room is stunning European traditional design overlooking the wine making rooms. Their wines have won awards.
- Franklin Hill Vineyards This one is run by women! Their wines have also won awards.
- Slate Quarry Winery This one has been around for decades, and has won awards for its Chardonnay.
